A love, a rune and a story

I shall follow you, wherever you go
like a chital, I hop around you
I buried myself in you
you are all that I have, my love!

With a beautifully soft, cold breeze, the day is about to unfold. Adavan wanted to wake up early in the morning, at least he tried, but it is so hard to wake up before five, thirty. Every night before, he challenged his mind, but it is always the early morning cold that wins the bet.

“It is ok, tomorrow I can wake up early!”

He likes to walk in the woods in the early morning. He wonders about the nature as he walks. In this vast cosmos, nature has created a blissful place for herself. It is much more like lovers with lot of emotion or perhaps affection, cosmos and nature are cuddling, spooning and doing the cosmic dance together. Wonderful isn’t it. Everything runs in his mind. Let me walk little bit further, he told himself.

Morning time is so special in the whole day. With all these foggy, cold and slight breezes, there is nothing else like this. Even the morning aroma that comes when you are in the middle of trees and plants… it is such a wonderland. Adavan thought that this is simply the extraordinary proportion of nature.

Those green colors. They are beauteous. The leaves, the trees, and plants. Nature is such a wonderful artist. Look at those morning dews on the leaves, like a lover’s heart, looking at his girl’s sparkling eyes, melting flawlessly.  Oh, maybe they are lovers, you see, the leaves and dew drops, and they are in love. Another wonder of this vast nature. Love everywhere. Adavan taught everything as he was still walking.

But those dews are falling from the leaves. Ice droplets are melted into dews and now they are leaving. Damn you sun! Why do you make them separate? Can’t you see the love in between? Adavan thinks about the feeling of those dew drops and leaves. They must be feeling bad, leaves has to let the dew drops go.  Such a brutal fate it is, but maybe they are not feeling bad at all, because once again tomorrow dew drops shall meet their soul mates. Adavan’s thoughts still linger deep.

Sun is the culprit here. He comes uninvited between this beautiful love stories. “Adavan means sun in Tamil, I wouldn’t come between love like this”, Adavan told himself. Because he shares the same name as of sun, Adavan looked at those leaves and dew drops and silently asks for forgiveness. But, wait, but if it is not the sun? Those ice droplets wouldn’t have melted and created an opportunity for the dew drops to snuggle and cuddle around and with the leaves like a true passionate lovers. So the sun actually helped? Hmm.

Look at this nature, how many hidden wonders, and how many hidden mysteries it has? “Nature, always playing with my mind”, Adavan thought himself.

Adavan’s mind is like a bird who is newly learned to fly. It goes beyond the horizon of all thoughts. Especially in this morning time, there is nothing that could stop his mind. As he walked away from those leaves and dew drops, he saw a flower. Big bright red flower. Why it is so much beautiful? Look at it, so much beauty in that small flower. They say ‘with beauty comes danger’, why would they say that? How could this delightfully cute flower be dangerous? Stupid men and their stupid words. With beauty comes danger eh? Hopeless! He thought himself.

In Adavan’s mind, he always think why these flowers are such a delight. Every day as he walked in this woods his doubt increased, but for today, he got an answer. These flowers must be loving someone. They are decorating themselves to please their lovers. “Lovers do that don’t they?” Adavan thought. It is early morning, these flowers must be expecting their lovers. They will come to collect the honey! Yes! Yes!! Adavan felt proud of himself, at last he figured a small piece of nature’s mysteries. Bees… Bees are the flowers’ soul mates!

If dew drops can love the leaves, why not bees and flowers?

Nature never tries to deny love. It won’t reject bees and flowers. After all, it must appreciate the effort that flowers took to decorate themselves. Such beauty, such a beauty. As Adavan thought about nature, he could feel that inside him there is something springs out. Infinite amount of happiness, love, smiles and all the joy. He had walked quite a distance now.

“What time is it now? Walked a lot I guess”, told Adavan himself. But it is still foggy and cold. Same soft breeze that can actually go inside Adavan’s heart and giggle it. Tomorrow I shall wake up early before sun rise. I must look at these beauties as sun comes. I want to look at these leaves and dew drops, those flowers are they are blossoming out. Adavan made a challenge again! Yes he will wake up tomorrow before sunrise. But the foe in this challenge is really tough one. Early morning cold that is! Only tomorrow morning I will know. He thought himself. He is skilled, he could weigh himself.

Ok, let’s walk a bit more, oh no wait, I forgot something, let’s go back home, he told himself. He turned back and saw a big jasmine plant. It is not small plant but rather kind of small tree like. There are a lot of jasmines on it. Look at those white jasmines and green leaves. It makes the whole tree looks like a big beautiful delight.

“Swetha…” Adavan mumbled.

He always remembered Swetha whenever he reached this jasmine plant. She is such a beautiful angel for him. If she smiles, even her eyes reflect those smiles and happiness of cause with love. Adavan’s mind was slowly getting filled by the thoughts of Swetha.

“Swetha, I left her at home.  I am such a fool. I must go back now”. He wanted to hug her, want to be in her soft arms. He loves her so much. There is no better place to be than resting his head on her lap while she caress his hair. This love is purer than that of leaves and dew drops. Greater than that of flowers and bees, he thought himself.  She will be at home, I must go fast and tell her how much I love her. He walked as fast as possible as he thought all of that.

As he walked, suddenly there were two rain drops fell on his hand. Oh rain? Is it going to? He looked upon the sky, it was getting dark. He started to walk even faster, as he walked the darkness increased.  “What is this? No such rain or clouds can make this much darkness”. Too much darkness, almost night, pitch black.

“Swetha, I am very sorry. Adavan must walk past that jasmine tree in order for this simulation to stimulate the necessary parts of the brain. We can only use the simulation to certain limit. We have tried twenty three times so far. But don’t worry we can try again! You must be strong Swetha, for him to wake up from this coma”, said Doctor David.

Adavan is in the bed. His head is connected to so many apparatus. Swetha is holding his hand, her eyes are wet. She didn’t listen to what Doctor David said. Or maybe her mind lingers with her love.

Adavan used to write poems for his eternal loving wife, Swetha, now she remembered one of them.

I shall follow you, wherever you go
like a chital, I hop around you
I buried myself in you
you are all that I have, my love!

…Beautiful breeze it is, wonderfully fantastic morning! Oh, I have woken up early before sunrise. It is not cold though, it is kind of warm. Not heat but warm, soothing warm. Adavan loves to walk in the woods in the early mornings. But he loves something else more than anything in this world. Yes! Swetha!! If she is around, what else he want?

“Today I must tell her that I love her. I am going to get ready and go see her in her house. I am going to ask her to be my angel goddess. I will collect some jasmines from that tree too, she will love them, she loves jasmine, she loves that pure whiteness”. Adavan’s mind is working so fast.

“But today’s warm climate is soothing, something is different. Maybe because I am going to see Swetha!” As he walked he felt this calm, soft warm and cold breeze too. Beautiful for a perfect day!

“I shall follow you, wherever you go…” Adavan walked toward the jasmine tree as he mumbled the rune he wrote for her.

Suddenly, the apparatus connected to Adavan’s head started to beep in green light.

“Mrs. Adavan, there is always hope!” smiled Doctor David.
