Learning the Enlightenment

One day the Master announced that a young monk had reached an advanced state of enlightenment. The news caused some stir. Some of the monks went to see the young monk. “We heard you are enlightened. Is that true?” they asked.

“It is,” he replied.

“And how do you feel?”

“As miserable as ever,” said the monk.

You might wonder about the answer of the enlightened monk, well the confusion came to you as a fact that you have a superstition about what enlightenment is. if the final answer confuses you, it is because you have created a stereotype of what enlightenment is.

Come out of it and you shall feel what it is, there is a famous saying,

“how can you fill a cup which is already full?”

If you want to know something make sure to keep your cup empty, I mean the more room your cup has, more new tea can be poured. That is the secret of learning.
